How the Geothermal Retrofit Planner Works
The map uses your selections to organize the questions into three connected layers: ground connection, indoor equipment and delivery to rooms. It changes the priorities for existing homes, new construction, different heating distribution and uncertain outdoor access.
It does not calculate heating capacity, bore depth, savings, price or incentive eligibility. A yard description is not a site assessment, and an existing radiator or duct system is not automatically suitable for reuse.
“Not sure” keeps the question open. “No private outdoor space” brings property rights and connection feasibility forward; it does not pronounce the home eligible or ineligible. Existing geothermal brings records and compatibility into the replacement discussion.
